Sheffield Wednesday look to be heading into the international break with an air of uncertainty hanging over caretaker boss Lee Bullen’s head.
That is because the club appears to be making moves to finally appoint a long-term successor to Steve Bruce, who departed south Yorkshire for Newcastle United earlier in the summer.
The Owls had begun the season well, but have since lost three of their last four Championship matches meaning the 48-year-old is under pressure if he wants the job permanently.
Sky Sports reported late Tuesday evening that Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley and his brother, Nicky, were in advanced talks to become the new management team at Hillsborough.

The Imps boss has since come out and played down the rumours by claiming it was news to him.
It remains to be seen if there is indeed any truth to this report, but that hasn’t stopped much of the Owls’ fanbase debating the possibility of seeing the successful Cowley twins in the dugout sometime soon.
One supporter hoped they weren’t appointed, calling them a pair of glorified PE teachers that have been managing a pub team, which was echoed by a further member of the Hillsborough faithful who said it could be another Jos Luhukay moment.
Several others appeared to be more positive with one fan claiming it would be a ‘refreshing and exciting’ appointment whilst another stated it was exactly the sort of move he was hoping for.
Here’s the best of the reaction:
Please no. Glorified pe teachers managing a pub team

Hope this is true. Mind you over the last few years it’s been a case of the hope that kills you with #swfc

Exactly the kind of appointment I was hoping for if Bullen couldn’t manage the step up. Only concern is controlling the big personalities in the dressing room. Not easy without immediate kudos. Bruce had that, Carlos didn’t but had charisma. Jos and Bullen had neither

Could be potentially the next big thing or the Next Nathan Jones.

If the Cowley's take over, we are all going to have to be grown up and give them the time they need to mould the side to their methods. There will be times we think we've made a mistake, but given time, they just might repeat their promotion magic. I'm in! Who's with me? #swfc
