According to reports from BBC Sport, Diafra Sakho’s transfer from West Ham to West Brom has collapsed.
The Senegal international has made no secret of his desire to leave the Olympic Stadium, having handed in a transfer request and refused to travel with West Ham’s pre-season tour squad.
The Hammers accepted a £16million bid from West Brom earlier this week but according to BBC Sport, the deal has now collapsed after the 26-year-old forward took a medical.
BBC Sport comment on how Sakho’s impending arrival raised speculation of Saido Berahino leaving the Hawthorns following a £20million bid from Stoke City – with The Telegraph recently claiming it would catalyse his departure.
Accordingly, the move falling through has created the opposite effect – namely doubts over whether the 22-year-old will now be allowed to leave the Black Country outfit this summer.
Sakho has scored 15 goals in 43 Premier League appearances for the East Londoners, after arriving from FC Metz in summer 2014.
