Everton transfer target Marko Arnautovic has signed a new contract at Stoke City, confirming the deal via his official Instagram account.

Sky Austria reported earlier this week that the Toffees were on the verge of activating a £12.5million release clause in the winger-forward's contract after agreeing the terms of a four-year deal.

But that was quickly contradicted by English sources, claiming the 27-year-old would snub a transfer to Goodison Park in favour of signing an improved contract at the Bet365 Stadium, with his current deal due to expire at the end of next season.

And the 55-cap Austrian international, who made three appearances for his country at Euro 2016, has now put pen to paper on a new Stoke City contract - confirming the deal via his official Instagram account.

Arnautovic, who signed from Werder Bremen in summer 2013, bagged eleven goals and six assists 34 appearances to finish as Stoke City's top scorer and joint-top creator in the Premier League last season.
