HYS: Should Mark Hughes drop Kevin Wimmer?

Safe to say, Kevin Wimmer has struggled to hit the heights expected since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer. Many believed the Austrian international’s only mistake at White Hart Lane was being caught behind Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in the pecking order, but he’s hardly escaped their shadow at Stoke City.

In fact, Wimmer has become a regular member of what is officially the worst defence in the Premier League, Stoke conceding 35 times already this season. And while the blame inevitably can’t be placed on one individual, Wimmer – who Transfermarkt value at £10.8million – certainly hasn’t covered himself in glory.

He was subbed off at half-time against Manchester City and upon facing former club Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, his performance was amongst the more disappointing – making just two tackles and one interception as Mark Hughes’ side were demolished 5-1.

So, Stoke City fans, would you drop Wimmer for tonight’s Premier League clash with Burnley? Let us know by voting below…
