Michael Owen considers Australia Move this summer

Stoke City striker Michael Owen is keen on a summer move to Australia according to Sky Sports.

The former England striker has failed to stay fit and make an impact for Stoke since arriving for free in the summer and a big money move down under could be the next step for him.

The television personality and racehorse owner started his first game for the Potters in their goalless draw with Crystal Palace in the FA Cup yesterday but failed to make any real impact on the game before being substituted.

Australian side Perth Glory have claimed that Owen’s agent has enquired as to whether Glory would be interested in taking his client in the summer when his Stoke one-year contract expires.

Robbie Fowler enjoyed a successful year with the Perth side in 2010 and it seems another Liverpool legend could also be gracing the A-League next season if a deal can be done.

“Michael Owen’s agent has enquired about Michael playing in the A-League,” the club’s spokesman told the West Australian newspaper.

“Perth Glory are interested but are yet to find out Michael’s terms and conditions. Until these are known, Perth Glory will not enter any further negotiations.”
