Prem side make fresh effort for £100k-per-week Spurs & Liverpool-linked ace

Stoke are making a renewed attempt to beat Liverpool and Spurs to the signature of Yevhen Konoplyanka, who is seeking a £100,000-per-week contract, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Ukraine international is due to be a free agent in the coming few weeks, with his contract with defeated Europa League finalists Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk set to expire.

The 25-year-old is one of the more tempting potential free agents remaining in the summer market, and both Liverpool and Spurs have been aligned with moves for him in the not too distant past.

However, Stoke are also keen, and have themselves made tentative approaches.

And now reports claim that, despite the Eastern European dragging his feet as keeps his options open, the Potters are set to meet with his representatives in an attempt to persuade him that a move to the Britannia Stadium is the best option.

A potential issue could be his demands of a £100,000-per-week salary and a substantial signing on fee, although the lack of a pay-out for a transfer could offset the outlay.

Sevilla are also in the running, but ‘Kono’ has admitted that a Premier League move is his aim.
