Stoke duo given a lot of love after heroics vs. Man United

Stoke fans had a mixed reaction on Twitter to their side’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Welsh midfielder Joe Allen scored a late equaliser in the 82nd minute after a mistake from Man United’s David De Gea to give Stoke only their third point of the season.

Allen, who also scored against West Brom last weekend, will have enjoyed the reaction from Stoke and Liverpool fans alike.

Stand-in goalkeeper Lee Grant was also singled out for praise in only his second appearance of the season as he made eight saves to deny the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba.

Manager Mark Hughes and Wilfred Bony, who was signed from Manchester City on loan in the summer came in for criticism, however.

Hughes has been under a lot of pressure of late, with Stoke spending most of their time in the relegation zone and struggling after last season’s ninth-placed finish, while Bony has thus far failed to recapture any form since moving from Manchester.
