Stoke City announced on Friday that they had completed the signings of Benik Afobe and Ryan Woods on permanent contracts.
Both Afobe and Woods joined Stoke on loan last summer, but have now completed permanent moves to the Bet365 Stadium from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford respectively.
Woods has established himself as a key member of the Stoke midfield this season, whilst Afobe is the team’s leading scorer this term with seven goals.

The Stoke fans have been on social media reacting to the double deal and whilst some are pleased, it would be fair to say that others are disappointed.
Indeed, a few believe that Stoke are not showing Premier League ambition by signing the duo, although to be fair, the Potters are currently languishing down in 14th position in the Championship, making a top-flight return this season unlikely.
A selection of the Twitter reaction to the double deal can be seen below:
Great now play Afobe alongside Berahino or at least together

Great stuff. Genuinely mean it. Now for someone with the tactical integrity to manage them accordingly.

Good signings, well done all. (Just thought I’d get in before all the moaners come in here with their complaints about something unrelated).

Afobe £12m looks like another expensive error.
Length of contracts?
