Eh? Swansea eyeing bizarre move for Liverpool old boy

Swansea are plotting a somewhat surprise move to offer former Liverpool forward Ryan Babel another chance in the Premier League, according to reports from The Sun.

The Dutchman plied his trade at Anfield between 2007 – 2011, but largely failed to live up to the billing he received when signed from Ajax.

Babel was shifted on to Hoffenheim before returning to Amsterdam, but he now finds himself in Turkey with Kasimpasa – where he plays alongside one time West Brom loanee Ryan Donk and former Man City goalie Andreas Isaksson.

But reports suggest Swansea boss Garry Monk is looking at the winger, who despite his travels, is still just 28.

Babel is able to play as a central striker, but has also performed on both flanks for various clubs through his career.

Regardless of his struggles, the attacker has been capped 43 times by the Netherlands – albeit he last featured in EURO 2012 qualification action.
