Yan Dhanda has hardly had a look in at Swansea since arriving from Liverpool in the summer, as reported by the BBC, as an exciting youngster, but Saturday's FA Cup clash against Gillingham presents Graham Potter with the perfect opportunity to give the winger a run out.

On the chalkboard

The 20-year-old has only been afforded 99 minutes of Championship action this season but has still managed to find the net once - the lack of opportunities is surely no fault of his own as Daniel James is difficult to oust from the starting XI.

James has been impressive on the wing for the Swans and has garnered interest from league leaders Leeds, who are, according to The Mirror's David Anderson, currently trying to settle on a fee for the player.

Potter will be losing one of his best players if James makes the switch to Elland Road and he will need to find a way to replace the Welshman's output - giving Dhanda a shot in the cup will allow him to see if he's got what it takes to fill James' shoes.

Big chance for Dhanda

The Dudley-born attacker would surely have hoped for more chances in the first team after moving from Anfield Stadium prior to the start of the 2018/19 season, but that hasn't been the case, despite the Liberty Stadium outfit slipping down to the Championship.

Dhanda showed, while playing for the Reds Under-23s, that he has an eye for goal and it would surely surprise few if he did indeed grab his chance against Gillingham, should it be afforded to him by Potter, with both hands.

James has chalked up a goal and four assists this season in the league and losing him would put a big dent in the Swans' promotion hopes, but if Dhanda can put in a good performance or, even better, get on the scoresheet, then Potter will surely have less sleepless nights.
