Ryan Giggs snubbed by Swansea after rubbish interview

According to The Daily Mail, Ryan Giggs had been the favourite to land the vacant Swansea manager’s job but missed out due to a number of factors, including anĀ ‘underwhelming interview.’

The former Wales and Manchester United winger was expected by many to land his first long-term job at the helm of a football club and had reportedly already made plans for his back-room staff to be led by former team-mate Nicky Butt.

The job became available on Monday after the Swans sacked Francesco Guidolin following their loss on Saturday at home to Liverpool but instead of Giggs, the Welsh club and their American owners swooped for former USA national team boss Bob Bradley.

Concerns about Giggs were not solely about his interview but also down to a lack of managerial experience, with him only having a very brief stint in charge of Manchester United on his CV and ultimately, it appears that is what got Bradley the job.

The American’s managerial reign starts away at Arsenal after the international break.
