Spurs & Swansea transfer deal under threat, price-tag too high

Spurs have slapped a £20m price-tag on Nacer Chadli, which has not been greeted favourably by Swansea, according to reports from the Mirror.

The Swans have been aligned with the Belgium international in recent weeks as they look to step up their summer transfer plans.

Even though Chadli was a part of Spurs’ impressive 2015/16 campaign, reports claim that the London club are open to the idea of offloading the 27-year-old, but that they want a £20m fee for his signature.

The Lilywhites paid just £7m to lure the wide-man to England from FC Twente three years ago, meaning that the required sum for him now is close to three times that they shelled out.

Swansea are understood to have baulked at their rivals’ demands, throwing Chadli’s future into doubt.

The South Wales outfit have been active in the transfer market over the course of the past week, signing Borja Baston in a club-record £15.5m deal from Atletico Madrid while also snapping up fellow Spaniard Fernando Llorente.
