Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has confessed that he is unsure of star striker Michu’s plans beyond next summer.
The Spaniard has proven to be a huge hit at the Liberty Stadium following his cut-price arrival in 2012, which has seen interest from Premier League rivals hot up.
Arsenal were linked with a move for the classy attacker’s signature in the closing stages of the last transfer window, but the Swans were able to keep their danger man for the current campaign.
Laudrup has no doubts that Michu wants to be at the club, but admitted that he does not know whether or not the forward will look to move on next year:
“What happens in the future? I don’t know,” he is quoted by the Daily Star.
“I think it’s so important what the player wants and I don’t think Michu had any doubts whatsoever that he wanted to stay here this season, but then what happens next year no one knows.
“The most important thing in all this is what the player wants,”
The 27-year-old has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top stars since his arrival at Swansea.
Due to a lack of depth in Laudrup’s squad, Michu has often been used as a striker, even though his preferred role is in attacking midfield.
Will Michu stay? Or does he owe himself a move to a big club?
