Wilfried Bony has joined Qatari outfit Al Arabi on loan as Swansea relieve a huge amount of pressure on their wage bill – it is thought that the striker rakes in around £120,000-a-week at the Liberty Stadium.
The former Manchester City striker is their highest earner and the Swans have surely been keen to offload him for a while; he may have played his last game for the club already, as his contract expires in the summer and he will spend the remainder of the season at Al Arabi.
Once one of the hottest shots in the Premier League, the Ivorian scored 26 goals in his first two seasons with the Swans before completing a switch to the Etihad Stadium – then it all started to go wrong.
Thogden has ranked his top 5 sets of Championship away fans for Pl>ymaker FC. Did your club make the list? Find out in the video below…
The Swansea number 2 flopped in sky blue and was subsequently sent out on loan to Stoke before returning to Wales for £12m in 2017, however his second spell with the club hasn’t gone quite as well as the first.
He will always have a special place in Swansea hearts for what he accomplished in his first two years at the club, but he won’t be too much of a loss to them now.
Here’s how the fans reacted on Twitter…
Shame it didn't work out this time round. Thanks for everything Wilf. You were a beast. #YJB

Our club has been turned into a joke and laughing stock! If we are not careful we will be back to square one and playing to stay in the football league in a few years time. This has all the hallmarks of the Sunderland documentary on Netflix.
