Swansea keen to seal permanent move

Jonathan De GuzmanSwansea boss Michael Laudrup is looking to make Jonathan De Guzman’s spell at the Liberty Stadium a permanent one, after a successful loan stint in South Wales, according to reports from Sky Sports.

The Dutchman was on of the Swans’ standout performers in an impressive season, helping them to secure Capital One Cup victory and Europa League qualification.

But, as of yet there has been no agreement reached with his parent club Villarreal, however reports claim that Laudrup is looking into the situation.

The Spanish side – who have just secured promotion back to the top flight following a season in the second tier – are said to be willing to allow the 25-year-old to move on, but only if Swansea meet their £5m valuation.

De Guzman is believed to be extremely keen to extend his stay in the Premier League and help Welsh side as they embark on a potentially huge season.

The Canadian-born star made 33 top-flight appearances last term, and even managed to net twice at Wembley during the memorable 5-0 demolition of Bradford in the League Cup final.

His impressive form also led to a first international call-up as well, where the midfield man represented Holland against China in Beijing.

Swansea fans, is keeping Jonathan De Guzman your side’s most important piece of business this summer?
