On loan Swansea midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has expressed his desire to join the South Wales club on a permanent basis in the summer.
The Dutch playmaker is currently on a season long loan from Spanish strugglers Villarreal and has made a superb impact becoming a key man for Michael Laudrup.
Laudrup has extended his stay at the Liberty Stadium and de Guzman has used that as an indication that he would like to do the same.
De Guzman has helped the Swans to Capital One Cup glory this season which will enable them to play in Europe for the first time next season.
The 25-year-old has recently made his first international appearance for Holland and wants to stay at Swansea to replicate his success of the past 10 months.
“It would be good for me to say here,” de Guzman told the South Wales Post.
“The Gaffer’s given me a good sign by agreeing to stay another year and I’ve made it clear I want to stay.
“But I have no clue what’s being talked about so it’s basically a waiting game for me.
“There are still seven games to go, seven tough games, so I’m just concentrating on them.”
