Swansea set to bid for Spanish ace

Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup is set to make a shock bid for Spanish international Alvaro Negredo this summer, according to the Express.

Negredo has been one of Spain’s top strikers in recent years and has helped Sevilla establish themselves as a top four team in La Liga.

Tottenham were heavily interested in the 27 year old last season with Chelsea and Everton having taking a look at the powerful striker too.

Laudrup was lauded for his work in the transfer market last summer bringing the likes of Michu, Pablo Hernandez and Jonathan De Guzman to South Wales and so a move for Negredo may not be too much of a shock after all.

The Swans have qualified for the Europa League next season after winning the Capital One Cup and so it may not be too hard to persuade big name players to move to the Liberty Stadium.

Sevilla are in dire financial trouble and may sell their main man for just £13million.
