The Welsh centre-back has been a key part of the Swans’ squad since their arrival in the Premier League, turning in a number of top performances.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are believed to be keen on securing his signature in the coming months, but the duo are said to have baulked at the 28-year-old’s valuation.
However, Davies feels that Williams would prove to be worth every last penny.
“A price of £10million for Ash is completely justified when you see some of the money being spent, especially on foreign players who are unproven in the Premier League,” said Davies.
“That would be a fair price but it would still be a massive loss for us.
“Last season he was one of the best centre-halves in the league, especially when you consider the team he is in and doesn’t have the very best midfielders in front of him helping out.”
Arsenal are said to be the most interested party, with Arsene Wenger seeing Williams as the ideal man to add some physicality to his backline.
Liverpool chief, Brendan Rodgers – who coached the defender during his stint in south Wales is also keen, but is thought to be pursuing other targets.
