The festive fixture period is always a very busy time of year for the Premier League, which also means Fantasy Premier League players have a lot to think about in such a short space of time.
We have three game weeks in just two weeks, with about 18 hours separating two of them, so it’s important your FPL team is perfectly optimised in order to return good FPL points totals throughout.
Studying which clubs have the easiest fixtures over this period is key, and Swansea can be considered as one of those clubs who have three of the most winnable games between Boxing Day and early January, despite their lowly league position.
Bob Bradley’s side are currently 19th in the Premier League but they have three very important and winnable fixtures over the next couple of weeks – West Ham (H), Bournemouth (H) and Crystal Palace (A).
Therefore, the infographic below outlines three Swansea players you should consider bringing in to your FPL team before the deadline on Boxing Day morning.
To start things off, Gylfi Sigurdsson is one of the most underrated FPL points scorers this season, and his stats show why. While Swansea have struggled for form and results, the Iceland international has helped pick them up at times and provided five goals and five assists already this term.
He is relatively cheap at just £7.5m, which looks even more good value for money when you consider his return of 10.8 FPL points per £1m spent. That has to make him one of the best value for money players right now.
Additionally, Sigurdsson is averaging an impressive 5.1 FPL points per 90 minutes played and Swansea’s success over the next few game weeks will heavily rely on his ability to produce the kind of heroics he has shown throughout the season. If he’s in your team over the next three game weeks, expect Sigurdsson to get you a healthy points return.
Spanish striker Fernando Llorente took some time to get off the mark for Swansea since signing in the summer, having to wait until game week six for his first goal for the club.
Since then, Llorente has netted four more and is looking more and more like the striker we all loved watching when he was in his prime playing in La Liga. The striker also has two assists to his name this term and represents a very cheap option for your FPL team’s strike force, with his price currently standing at just £6,3m. That is currently returning an impressive 9 FPL points per £1m spent, which proves just how much value for money he is.
Four of his five goals this season have come at the Liberty Stadium and with Swansea being at home twice out of the next three fixtures, Llorente will be expected to find the back of the net and help Bradley’s Swans start climbing the table.
Lasty, Leroy Fer has seen his early season form dwindle over the last few game weeks, though injury hasn’t helped that. Fer netted three times in the opening four games of the season and now he’s back fit and in the fold, expect him to return to Swansea’s midfield and once again link up with Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The pair of them were forming a formidable partnership in the middle of the park earlier in the campaign and that is expected to be reinstated over this busy fixture period.
The Dutchman’s early season form has contributed to his average of 12 FPL points per £1m spent on him, as well as his FPL points average of 5 per 90 minutes played.
Swansea’s up coming fixtures could make or break their season and, if Fer can get back to his best, then he’ll definitely be amongst the high FPL points returns between game weeks 18 and 20.
