Just eight months after appointing Francesco Guidolin, Swansea City have sacked the former Udinese boss to bring in a new manager.

The new man in question? Former USA national team coach Bob Bradley, who has become the first American to ever coach in the Premier League.

But despite plenty of optimism surrounding his appointment, Bradley looks to have his work cut out. The Swans currently lie 17th in the Premier League table after this weekend's home defeat to Liverpool and there is plenty to do in order to secure safety for another season.

It's going to be tough for the former Le Havre manager, who will be expected to secure the Welsh club's top-flight status as a bare minimum.

We've seen bigger hills climbed in football and if Bradley can get his players performing again, they should be fine.

But after his appointment, what might you not know about the 58-year-old?

Here are THREE things you might not know about new Swansea manager...

He's an avid Bruce Springsteen fan

A slightly more light-hearted start to this list and a fact that might appall or thrill some Swansea City supporters.

It's been well publicised that Swansea's new manager is quite the fan of American singer Bruce Springsteen.

'How do we know this?' we hear you cry? During his time with Norwegian outfit Stabæk, some footage of him singing along to some of his tunes went viral.

This is his fourteenth position

Bradley has quite an extensive managerial background and many might not know that the 58-year-old has been involved with 14 different sides.

Assistant manager roles at the Virginia Cavaliers, the United States U23 side and D.C. United early on his career were his only second-in-command titles and he's actually been at the helm of 11 different outfits.

It's an extensive managerial record that spans over 35 years. Impressive stuff to say the least.

He's highly regarded in American soccer

Bradley has twice been named Major League Soccer coach of the year - in 1998 with the Chicago Fire and eight years later with Chivas USA.

Whilst this doesn't reflect the biggest managerial coup in the world, it's still hefty recognition for his work in a time where MLS wasn't dominated by whomever had the most money.
