West Ham and Sunderland eye move for promising Premier League manager

Sunderland are the latest club keeping an eye on Swansea City manager Garry Monk, according to Wales Online.

After Friday’s reports that West Ham are keen on Swans chief Monk as a potential replacement for Sam Allardyce, it now appears the Black Cats are also monitoring the 36-year-old after his superb first full season in management.

Monk has been tipped to be among the nominees for Premier League Manager of the Year after a record-breaking campaign following his surprise appointment at the South Wales club last campaign.

His stock as one of the most promising English managers in the game has only risen in recent months after the Swans equalled their best-ever Premier League points tally as they currently stand in their highest position since they entered the Premier League.

However, Monk – who has two years on his current Swansea contract – distanced himself from the Friday’s reports, insisting he is focused on managing the Swans.
