Since it's reconfiguration from the First Division in 2004, the Championship has become the most popular, lucrative and successful second tier in world football.
Indeed, no other non-top flight division receives the same revenue or viewing figures and far from being simply a hoof-n-hope league, the Championship is now home to a number of highly-talented, spectator-friendly sides.
It can always be counted upon for goals with an impressive 35 scored across twelve games last weekend - even if they sometimes lack the quality what we've come to expect from it's bigger brother, the Premier League.
And with that in mind, Football FanCast reckon it's time some of the Championship's greatest ever marksmen receive their well-deserved moment in the spotlight.
Courtesy of our mates at TransferMarkt, here's a rundown of the Championship's top ten all-time goalscorers since its revamp twelve years ago.
Newcastle, Watford, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa stars, alongside Sunderland and Nottingham Forest heroes, all feature in this top ten.
10. Daryl Murphy - 77 Goals in 251 Apps
Daryl Muphy's yet to find the net since signing for Newcastle United during the summer but the veteran striker's record in the Championship is nothing to be sniffed at, netting 77 times throughout his spells with Sunderland and Ipswich.
However, a third of those goals came for the Tractor Boys during the 2014/15 season alone.
9. Troy Deeney - 77 Goals in 205 Apps
Troy Deeney is the only striker on this list to have scored all of his Championship goals for a single club in the form of Watford.
The 28-year-old battled his way to the top flight with the Hornets, finally achieving promotion in 2015 after his fifth consecutive campaign of reaching double figures in the Championship's scoring charts.
8. Billy Sharp - 78 Goals in 246 Apps
Billy Sharp's a bit of a cult hero in Football League circles, in no small part due to his knack for producing sublime goals.
Not every spell has worked out for the Sheffield-born striker but the fact he's made the top ten, mainly due to him claiming 40 Championship goals across three seasons with Doncaster, speaks for itself.
7. Kevin Phillips - 78 Goals in 189 Apps
The last Englishman to win the Golden Boot, Kevin Phillips' finishing ability was up there with the best.
After his top flight career came to an inevitable end, the retired poacher continued to provide the goods for West Brom, Birmingham, Blackpool, Crystal Palace and Leicester City in the Championship.
6. Marlon King - 79 goals in 189 Apps
Marlon King was always a real force in the second tier, hitting double figures during his final five Championship campaigns.
However, the 36-year-old dropped down to League One in 2013 and after just a handful of appearances for Sheffield United, decided to hang up his boots.
5. Dexter Blackstock - 84 Goals in 332 Apps
Make no mistake about it, longevity has got Dexter Blackstock to fifth place, making the most Championship appearances and representing the most clubs, a staggering seven, of any player on this list.
Nonetheless, the journeyman striker's produced an impressive 84 goals throughout his spells with Southampton, Plymouth, Derby, QPR, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and current employers Rotherham.
4. Darius Henderson - 87 Goals in 270 Apps
Another second-tier stalwart, Darius Henderson is an old-fashioned target man in every sense of the phrase, measuring in at a whopping 6 foot 4.
He's represented Gillingham, Watford, Sheffield United, Millwall and Nottingham Forest in the Championship, bagging 87 goals in the process, and is currently on the books at Mansfield Town in League Two.
3. Jordan Rhodes - 91 Goals in 187 Apps
With a strike-rate just shy of one-in-two, Jordan Rhodes can claim to be the most potent striker on this list.
Before helping fire Middlesbrough to the top flight last season with six goals after his January arrival, the Scotland international scored 85 times across three-and-a-half campaigns with Blackburn Rovers.
2. David Nugent - 103 Goals in 306 Apps
From one Boro forward to another, David Nugent's record in the Championship is not to be messed with, his hauls helping Leicester City and the Riverside outfit reach promotion in recent seasons.
He also scored regularly in the second tier for Preston North End and Portsmouth, and still aged just 31, Nugent could well rise to pole position in this top ten before his career comes to an end.
1. Ross McCormack - 118 Goals in 316 Apps
Widely regarded as the most dependable goalscorer in the Championship, Ross McCormack's affluent spells with Cardiff City, Leeds United and Fulham have pushed him to the top of this list.
However, the Scotland international has scored just twice since moving to Aston Villa during the summer.
