The latest in a long line of managerial targets for West Brom has seen them line up Slaven Bilic as a potential successor to Darren Moore.
That’s per Express & Star who reported on Wednesday that the club had held talks with him this week over their vacant managerial position. It’s a role that’s now been without a permanent head since March.
Reacting to the Bilic news on Twitter there was a sense of optimism from some supporters. One fan laid claim that he was a good manager, suggesting he was confident the board could get a deal over the line despite wages potentially being an issue.
A further supporter said he was a manager with an excellent pedigree. Another individual explained that Bilic’s potential appointment would be a gamble but a fun ride at the same time.
The Croatian was capped 44 times by his country during his playing career and also went onto manage them.
Bilic has experience managing in England with West Ham but his most recent job was in charge of Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ittihad.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
Good manager – can also see his wages being a problem for us as per usual.
Would be buzzing if we had a decent owner, confident we’ll get him but with our owners now, it’s almost as if you know now that getting him is unlikely.

I’d be happy with him

Bilic would be a good appointment. Excellent pedigree as a player and not shoddy as a manager of Croatia and at club level. He’s highly intelligent, articulate and passionate He would reenergise the club and its fans. #wba

He’d be a big gamble but love his passion and would at least be a fun ride.

He’ll do, definitely better than Hughton and Pearson.

I wasn’t expecting this. Interesting that he’s prepared to drop down the Championship and I’d like to know what it is about Albion that has convinced him to consider the job. He did well at West Ham until the new stadium and Payet’s demand for a move seemed to derail him there.
