Albion loanee Jack Fitzwater says he isn't thinking too hard about his future despite not being offered a contract extension by the West Midlands club, as reported by Express and Star.

What's the story?

The promising 20-year-old is currently on loan at League One Walsall, where he has been earning rave reviews from Saddlers fans, until the end of the season.

His contract runs out with the Baggies in the summer and some Saddlers fans are calling for his loan to be made permanent, but the young centre-back says that he's trying to concentrate on the here and now.

He said: "I'm enjoying being at Walsall and I'm just going to play the rest of the games and see in the near future what happens.

"My job is to focus on what i am doing here and give 100 per cent in every match I play."

What should the Baggies do?

West Brom have conceded 40  goals this season, which is tied for the fourth worst in Premier League. Their defensive organisation against corners most recently in their fifth round FA Cup defeat to Southampton was appalling, and Wesley Hoedt was completely unmarked for the Saints first goal.

Walsall, meanwhile, have been rock solid defensively since Fitzwater arrived with the team yet to fall to defeat in his first four turnouts for the club and clean sheets recorded in two of those.

If West Brom want to turn it around next season, whether that be in the Championship or the Premier League, they can do worse than to take on the young centre-back for a while longer.
