It’s becoming a common theme that young English players are linked to clubs abroad and West Brom’s Louie Barry could be the next in line to make the move.
Remarkably, the 15-year-old has attracted the interest of some top European sides including Barcelona and unsurprisingly for an English player, teams in the Bundesliga.

Barry was one of the West Brom players to feature in their phenomenal run to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals this season as the club knocked out the likes of Everton and Arsenal en route.
However, the striker isn’t the first and won’t be the last young player to be linked with a possible switch away from the Hawthorns.
West Brom have had a habit of losing rising stars, the main departure coming in the form of Izzy Brown. With Barry, the Baggies can’t afford to follow a trend and lose one of their most promising players.
It would be difficult to stand in the way of a move to Barcelona, but for the club to continue to be taken seriously in regards to their phenomenal youth set up, and indeed get the utmost out of it, they must keep hold of him.
The fact Rekeem Harper and Kyle Edwards have played a part in the first team this season could convince him to stay, however.
But the interest in the player currently stems from his eye-catching performances for England U16s, demonstrating his terrific prowess in front of goal by claiming the golden boot at the Val-de-Marne tournament in October and November of 2018.
He meanwhile also scored two goals for England’s U16s against Brazil in February. But the player has shone for Republic of Ireland’s youth teams too, being eligible to play for both because of how young he is.
England could, therefore, have another possible Declan Rice situation on their hands in a number of years.
At the age of 15, it’s incredibly difficult to predict how his career will turn out, but West Brom have to ensure they keep players like Barry to get the most from their thriving academy setup.
