West Brom boss Darren Moore must add to his squad in January and a loan move for Liverpool's young left-back Adam Lewis would give him the perfect back-up to Kieran Gibbs.

What's the situation?

After a blistering start to the season where the Baggies could not stop scoring, they have suffered a slight dip of form in recent weeks and are now winless in three games after drawing 1-1 with Blackburn last Saturday.

Moore stuck with the three-at-the-back formation that has served his side well so far, but in the absence of Gibbs the West Midlands side lacked a truly attacking wing-back as summer-signing Conor Townsend failed to light up the Hawthorns.

Moore then should dip into the loan market to provide cover for Gibbs, and signing Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis would be a fantastic deal for all parties.

First-team football

Recently, Goal reported that Liverpool's current back-up at left-back Alberto Moreno would not be given a new contract and that he would be allowed to leave on a free-transfer in the summer of 2019. The Spaniard lost his place to Andrew Robertson last season and in truth has struggled since arriving at Anfield in the summer of 2014.

The report also claimed that Jurgen Klopp had been impressed by 18-year-old academy prospect Lewis, and that he would become the understudy next season.

Lewis has played 10 games for Liverpool's U23s so far this season, providing an impressive four assists from left-back, but he has never experienced first-team football and so a loan to West Brom would be perfect at this stage in his career.
