West Brom failed to truly take advantage at the top of the Championship on Boxing Day as they disappointingly drew 1-1 with Barnsley.

Filip Krovinovic opened the scoring with a rare goal, capitalising on some lacklustre goalkeeping and defending but the Tykes hit back late on.

Former Leeds man Aapo Halme did his old club a service by netting in the 90th minute but it wasn't enough to dislodge Albion from top spot in the division.

The Baggies' strikers didn't experience must festive cheer and that was definitely the case with substitute Kenneth Zohore. The Dane replaced Charlie Austin with under half an hour to play but he mustered just seven touches of the ball.

He now hasn't scored since September and fans have been questioning why on earth Luke Dowling and co decided to bring him to the Hawthorns for £8m. Specifically, one fan labelled it a baffling piece of business.

Other supporters took to Twitter to claim he should now be sold just months after he initially joined the club. One individual claimed the Midlands outfit should cut their losses but that may be harder than imagined.

Considering his lack of game time and consistency, finding the net just twice in 2019/20, it's hard to envisage many sides taking a punt on his abilities.

Couple that with the £16.5k he's on per week and it only adds further difficulty in trying to shift him. That being said, judging by Zohore's performances, trying to sell him certainly isn't a bad idea.

But there was more criticism in terms of his general performance levels and the display he put in against Barnsley on Boing Day.

The 25-year-old had just one shot which was off target. He also failed to use his physical frame to win a single aerial duel.

Zohore hadn't played since early November and after this performance, which was described as useless by one fan, it's hard to see him getting too many other opportunities.

His lacklustre efforts provoked another supporter to suggest he had no drive. The fact the striker didn't play well even after so long out of the team sums that up.

What happens to Zohore now remains to be seen but given West Brom's league position, he simply isn't up to the task Slaven Bilic requires.
