Revealed: 69% of West Brom fans would support a move for Walsall’s George Dobson

The majority of the West Brom fans that voted in our recent poll said that they would support Darren Moore if he was to make a January move for Walsall’s young midfielder George Dobson.

Despite their reasonably strong start to the season, which sees them sit in fifth place in the Championship table, the Baggies have had problems in central midfield and have relied too heavily on their dangerous front three of Jay Rodriguez, Dwight Gayle and Harvey Barnes.

Specifically, the problem in midfield is who Moore should start alongside Jake Livermore in the middle of the park. Chris Brunt, Gareth Barry and James Morrison have all been tried in the position but all are well into their 30s and struggle to keep up with the pace of the frantic Championship, whilst 20-year-old academy graduate Sam Field is yet to be properly trusted in league games.

Former Arsenal youth player Dobson then could be a target in the winter window. The 20-year-old has played every minute of Walsall’s League One campaign and has even captained the side in all but one game despite his young age, proving that he is highly thought of at his current club.

Check out the full results of our poll below, where 69 per cent of Baggies fans were keen to see the move happen.
