Having been relegated from the Premier League last season, West Brom manager Darren Moore is having to deal with interest in a number of his players from top flight clubs.
Centre-back Jonny Evans has already left the Hawthorns for just £3.5m, thanks to a relegation clause in his contract and the Baggies’ Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon could be next.
The 28-year-old also has a relegation release clause of £16.5m and, according to The Sun, he is the man that Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has chosen to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic at St James’s Park.
Valued at £11.7m by Transfermarkt, the deal would represent good money for Moore to reinvest in his squad but he would also need to replace his team’s focal point and the 10 goals that Rondon contributed to last season.
We recently asked West Brom fans whether they would cash-in on Rondon this summer and it’s clear that the fanbase are torn between letting him go or holding onto him in order to lead them back to the Premier League. Check out the full results here…
