West Brom host Manchester United on Saturday evening knowing that a win puts them to within just one point of Jose Mourinho's side in the Premier League table.

Tony Pulis' boys are having an excellent season and finishing in a European spot doesn't look outside the realms of possibility.

An impressive 3-1 victory over Swansea on Wednesday night sees them head into the United match full of confidence and belief that they can pull off the upset. Nobody has won more points than the Baggies since the start of November, apart from league leaders Chelsea.

They ran Chelsea close last Sunday too and have no reason to fear the visitors in what could be an exceptionally exciting game at the Hawthorns. There have been three goals or more in the last four games at the home of the Black Country outfit.

Here are THREE reasons why West Brom could cause an upset against Manchester United...

Exceptional home form

Tony Pulis' side have won their last three matches at the Hawthorns. Not only that but in each of them they've scored at least three goals.

That's the kind of form that will give Mourinho pause for thought when deciding what kind of performance he wants from his team.

If they go at West Brom and attack them, then they could be left exposed against a side full of goals at the moment. Defend too much and you risk stifling your own creative talent - and at the same time inviting the opposition on to you.

It could end up being an exciting and open encounter with a draw unlikely to be good enough for United to take home.

A defensive unit

We saw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge that Tony Pulis can bring out the famous 'Pulisball' against the elite teams in the Premier League.

He knows how to organise a team defensively and frustrate the top talent in the division. That could be key on Saturday. It's likely going to take an almighty effort to knock down the defensive wall Albion can build.

It was only a momentary lapse in concentration that allowed Diego Costa to score against them last weekend.

The leaping Salomon

Salomon Rondon's sensational hat-trick on Wednesday night could be the springboard he needs to really kickstart his season. Prior to the Swansea match he had only scored four goals this season and only one since October.

With the spotlight on him in Saturday's big TV game, it's a big chance for the Venezuelan to show that stunning three-goal haul against Swansea was no fluke.

We expect Manchester United to be putting in extra defensive aerial training ahead of the visit to Birmingham...
