The Baggies striker has made a terrific start to the season, netting six Premier League goals already – including efforts against Liverpool and the Red Devils.
Such form has led to talk of a move away from The Hawthorns in January, with both United and Spurs thought to be eyeing the highly-rated 21-year-old.
West Brom have already slapped a £30m price tag on the Burundi-born ace, and Irvine is confident that Berahino knows full well that he can achieve his current aims – thought to be a spot in England’s senior squad – in the Midlands:
“I think Saido has the maturity to realise if he keeps doing what he does he will make progress here and all sorts of things will open up at international and club level,” he told reporters.
“If he keeps doing this, he will become a top striker and anything can happen.”
However, Irvine says he’s expecting January offers:
“There’s a bit of time to go between now and then, but if he continues to do what he is doing other clubs will come in and test the water.”
