Having made his first league appearance for West Brom in their draw against Brentford late last year, Dara O'Shea has looked to make an immediate impression on the first-team squad at the Hawthorns.

The defender played the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup third round victory over Charlton earlier in January, and got the chance to impress once again after being handed another start against West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

The 20-year-old helped inspire the Baggies to a narrow 1-0 victory over the Premier League side, ensuring they are now in the hat for the fifth round draw of the FA Cup.

And after seeing his performance, West Brom fans took to Twitter to hail the Republic of Ireland U21 international.

Some fans hailed O'Shea's composure on the ball, and lauded the fact that he looked calm and collected in possession and didn't seem "overawed" by who they were playing.

One Baggies supporters even urged for him to start the next game.

Another fan in particular expressed their delight that they had tied down O'Shea to a new long-term contract following his impressive performance.

Aged just 20, O'Shea has plenty of time to grow and develop under Slaven Bilic's leadership. If the Baggies earn promotion to the Premier League too, the defender will no doubt learn a lot more from the step-up in quality to the top-flight.

In the two FA Cup games he has played this season, O'Shea has helped West Brom keep consecutive clean sheets. Whilst the rest of his defence can take a lot of the credit for that too, the prospect is evidently doing something right when he's on the pitch.
