Swedish paper Expressen has claimed that West Brom are in talks to sign Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson and the Baggies’ fans have been getting excited on Twitter.
With reports suggesting the club are also close to signing centre-back Kyle Bartley from Swansea for £3.5m, West Brom could be about to reunite the pair who shone for Leeds in the 2016/17 season when both were on loan at Elland Road.
Boss Darren Moore needs to make defensive additions this summer after the departure of Jonny Evans to Leicester for just £3.5m and Craig Dawson’s request to leave.
Jansson played 42 league games for Leeds last season and scored three goals as the Whites finished 13th in the Championship. He also played the first game of Sweden’s 2018 World Cup campaign, a 1-0 win over South Korea.
Moore will be hoping that he can add both Bartley and Jansson to his squad in preparation for the club’s attempt at returning straight back to the Premier League.

Can't imagine any scenario where Leeds would be letting Jansson leave, so these rumours feel somewhat speculative to me. That said, I'd be starting to feel very positive about our defence with him and Bartley joining the ranks. #WBA

I’d be surprised if we pay £10 mill for a single player now
