West Brom had the pleasure of hosting Millwall twice in a week but only come away from the two fixtures with one result as they draw in the league before their Carabao Cup outing ended in defeat.
There was a debut goal for Charlie Austin, who Slaven Bilic poached on deadline day for £4m, but Tom Bradshaw and Aiden O’Brien hit back to send Millwall into the next round.
Bilic also gave starts to a number of fringe players including Oliver Burke who has struggled to make much of an impact in the West Midlands since joining in a £15m move from RB Leipzig in 2017.
It appears patience is wearing thin at the Hawthorns with a number of supporters sharing similar thoughts on the Scot.
A couple of fans compared the winger to Luke Moore claiming he was ‘the laziest’ and ‘most disinterested’ player since the former striker was at the club back in 2008-11.
Others blasted the young winger for being a waste of a shirt as well as a waste of money.
One supporter even hoped it would be the last they see of the 6 foot 2 winger in Baggies colours going forward.
Here’s the best of the reaction:
Burke has to be the laziest player I’ve seen since Luke Moore #wba

I have backed Burke for a long time, hoped he would come good. I wasn’t at the game last night but the fierce criticism of his performance and attitude suggests he may just not be worth the patience anymore. If he won’t grab his chance in the team, why persevere with him #wba

Well Luton has become a huge must win. Austin needs more game time. Oli burke is a waste of a shirt. #WBA

Wasn't at the game tonight but reading comments regarding Burke it sounds like he was awful…people who know me will know my views on HRK but I'm telling u now he is better than Burke! At least he puts the effort in! #whatawasteofmoney #wba

Is Oliver Burke the worst footballer of all time? #wba

Burke treated tonight like he has every Albion game in his career. Should be absolutely busting a gut to impress but strolled around like it was a training match. Hopefully the last we see of him. #wba

Probably unpopular but How Burke has pretended to be a footballer this long I'll never know, he's absolutely garbage #wba
