West Bromwich Albion failed to return to the top of the Championship's summit on Wednesday evening as they were held to a draw by Wigan Athletic.

Slaven Bilic threw in a curveball before kickoff by rotating his side with the likes of Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana and Hal Robson-Kanu all earning a rest.

It meant fringe players like Filip Krovinovic earned a chance to start, and it's fair to say that some of the travelling support were left reeling by his performance.

The home side took the lead five minutes after half time through a bit of fortune as Sam Morsy's strike from range cannoned in off goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

But by the hour mark, Charlie Austin tied things up slamming home past ten outfield players after the Baggies were handed an indirect free-kick on the edge of the six-yard box.

Krovinovic clearly failed to inspire as Albion succumbed to a draw with the Croatian being labelled a 'waste of space' and a 'negative player.'

The 24-year-old lasted the whole duration of the match with him switching between the number ten role and Romaine Sawyers' a little deeper in order to try to find his best position.

Either way, he did little to impress the Baggies faithful as a couple of fans noted his passing as a particular area of concern.

One supporter wondered if Krovinovic was allergic to forward passes while another claimed it was only sideways or backwards, stating that it wasn't anywhere near the level they need.

West Brom now sit second in the table, but only by goal difference as Leeds United take first place by a solitary goal.

They too are the only side to have overcome Albion this campaign as both teams look to build some ground away from the rest of the division - the gap is now 11 points to third-placed Fulham.
