One of West Brom’s strikers seems to be lighting up in the west Midlands this week – and it’s not Charlie Austin or Kenneth Zohore.

The Baggies’ U23 squad suffered their second defeat of the season, losing to Reading U23s at the Madejski Stadium, but one man continued his fine form in front of goal.

Jamie Soule picked up his fourth goal in three games in Premier League 2, though it wasn’t enough to give West Brom’s youngsters a third straight win on the bounce.

The 18-year-old appears to be carrying on with his goalscoring prowess from last season where he bagged 16 goals in just 29 appearances, including six in five matches in the FA Youth Cup as they made the semi-finals of the competition - per Transfermarkt.

Albion’s senior strikers are yet to really get their seasons going – Austin hasn’t scored in his three Championship appearances, and Zohore has only scored two from the penalty spot.

Soule’s performances for the youth team have certainly caught the eye of many supporters at the Hawthorns.

One fan believes the young forward has to be close to the first team now, describing him as a 'talent' whilst another claimed he should be selected on the bench unless Austin or Zohore started getting the goals that their attacking play deserved.

A further member of the Baggies faithful put his trust in Slaven Bilic, claiming he would get the best out of him.
