West Brom fans on Twitter are loving Dwight Gayle after his fifth league goal

West Brom fans on Twitter were delighted with Dwight Gayle’s goal in the 2-0 win over Millwall that saw the Baggies climb to third place in the Championship.

The game was balanced on a knife edge for the first half and much of the second, with both sides having chances to break the deadlock.

However, it wasn’t until the 68th minute that the home side went ahead at the Hawthorns. The goal came from a corner as centre-back Ahmed Hegazi’s header was saved onto the crossbar brilliantly by Millwall keeper Ben Amos, only for the ball to fall straight into the path of the waiting Gayle.

It was a typical poachers goal and was Gayle’s fifth in just eight Championship appearances so far this season. Just eight minutes later, left-wing back Kieran Gibbs doubled the Baggies’ lead, but it is the front three of Harvey Barnes, Jay Rodriguez and Gayle that are really impressing at the moment.
