West Brom fans praise vintage Chris Brunt performance

West Brom fans have been left in utter awe of Chris Brunt and his left foot after his performance in the club’s 3-0 win over Swansea.

The Baggies skipper was in sensational form as supporters hailed his ball striking ability, claiming he was back to his best with a captain’s display. It was a showing from Brunt that inspired Albion to their first win in four Championship games as they started life without Darren Moore with a win.

Brunt has been renowned for his ability with the ball on his left side and is also a set-piece specialist, so fans were delighted to see the two come together as he struck home a free-kick after 19 minutes to open the scoring.

He also showed his vision throughout the fixture, claiming an assist with a wicked left-footed corner which was headed home by Mason Holgate. Fan reaction on Twitter saw his left foot branded as magic, claiming it was a wand as he left the opposition in a spin.

The Northern Irish international has been vocal this week about the former management team but let his football do the talking on Wednesday evening, leaving the Hawthorns faithful mesmerised. Fans were quick to hail him a legend, suggesting it was absurd that the 34-year-old is past it.

He has only started 16 times in the Championship this season but after his display on Wednesday, fans will be wanting to see him play a more regular part.

Here’s the best of the reaction.
