West Brom and Rekeem Harper are edging ever closer to an agreement over terms for the midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer, with Albion boss Darren Moore increasingly confident that the starlet will sign a new deal in the coming days.

Moore, who has guided the Baggies to fourth in the Championship standings after the Midlands club kept faith in him beyond their doomed 17/18 season in the Premier League, told The Express and Star:

"The update I believe is his advisers and our advisers at the club have proposed a deal.

“We're one step again closer. We have moved on. Obviously it's about Rekeem's advisers and us coming to an agreement. We're getting there.

“We want to see him stay here, we've agreed that we want him to stay, his advisers agree that he should stay, it's just a matter of getting it sorted now.”

The 18-year-old has been hugely impressive in the Baggies midfield since breaking through from the academy and has recorded an assist in his eight league appearances.

Despite the confusion surround his contract situation, the youngster came on just before the hour mark in the dramatic 3-2 win over QPR on Tuesday night, highlighting his importance to Moore.
