It's the saga that just won't leave West Brom alone. Nathan Ferguson - is he staying? is he going?

There have been contrasting reports over the 19-year-old's future for several months now with it looking increasingly likely that he will not be wearing the Baggies strip come the start of next season.

According to The Athletic, Ferguson has been offered at least a 20-fold increase on his current wages yet no advancements have been made in terms of the two parties coming to an agreement, leaving the club in a pickle.

It is believed that they are open to selling the versatile defender this month should any suitable offers come in, but that is now dubious with Alan Nixon of The Sun claiming that Ferguson will wait until the summer and run down his contract at the club.

Now fans have taken to Twitter to scorn their academy success story with many asking Albion to get rid...

Others weren't so straight up and blunt about it, they suggested that he should be left to rot in the reserves because his mind isn't completely focused on the club.

He was even labelled 'ungrateful' by one supporter.

Ferguson has played 20 times in the Championship this campaign, in what is his breakthrough season in the men's game.

Furthermore, some sections of the Hawthorns faithful believe a third party is at fault here - his agent.

One fan labelled the player's representative as toxic while another added that they ruin the modern game.

It has also led to damning comparisons to players of old with Saido Berahino's name cropping up once again.

The former Baggies striker infamously had a troubled time in the west Midlands, which was mostly brought about by failed moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City.

His antics are still fresh in the memory for some, so the similarities between the two are clearly evident.

And there were even calls to say that summer arrival Darnell Furlong is a better option than him anyway, making him free to go if need be as a couple of supporters felt they had enough cover in the position.
