West Brom were denied the chance to go nine points clear at the top of the Championship table on Saturday afternoon as they were hit back with a late equaliser at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies drew 2-2 with local rivals Nottingham Forest in a gripping encounter that was marred with controversy.

Matty Cash slammed home an injury-time effort to earn the visitors a draw after Blades loanee Callum Robinson and a Tobias Figueiredo own goal had put them 2-1 up with just over 20 minutes remaining.

Forest's first goal came courtesy of Albion centre-back Kyle Bartley as he also turned it into his own net in an attempt to stop the prolific Lewis Grabban from getting there first and then he was once again involved in a contentious incident as Slaven Bilic's men had a goal denied in the 96th minute as the 28-year-old was deemed offside over the goalline when being in the way of Robinson's shot.

It had led to fans slamming him on social media.

Here's what has been said...

One supporter said the centre-back was having a "mare" during the match whilst the words "shocking" and "dreadful" were also used.

Bartley reverted back to his "scintillating worst" according to another member of the Baggies faithful - he was even described as the team's "own worst enemy."

SofaScore handed him a miserable 6.5 rating, which wasn't even the worst in Bilic's backline, as he lost possession 16 times and recorded four clearances and three tackles.

Plenty of others hinted that errors were frequent in his game this season.

The 28-year-old was brandished as a "calamity" as well as "dodgy" while a further member of the Albion fanbase claimed the centre-back always has a mistake - usually an own goal or penalty - in him.

As a result of such opinions, some fans want to see him rested or out of the team entirely.

"Nightmare" and "disaster waiting to happen" were two scathing reviews of Bartley following the 2-2 draw on Saturday.
