Darren Moore will be hoping to keep the core of his West Bromwich Albion squad together as he gears up for his well-earned chance to engineer a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
However, first-choice goalkeeper Ben Foster has decided to jump ship, refusing to go on the club’s pre-season tour in order to force through a move and joining Watford, returning to the Premier League in the process.
The former England international has taken the decision to get back into the top flight and not to stick with the club and go back there with them, and it is fair to say it has split opinion among the club’s fans.

Some of the club’s fans are seeing that as a betrayal of loyalty, that Foster has flaked out on the club, while others can understand that he wants to be back in the big time as soon as possible, especially at the late stage of his career.

Due to the fact he said he had no interest in going to another club so we had faith in him bringing us back up!

Seen too many players come & go over a long time supporting the Baggies to care about a 35 year old leaving! Or how he goes! We've somtimes kept players too long – thankfully we haven't with Foster! I thank him & wish him well but Johnstone is our keeper now! Onward & upward #wba
