West Brom have started to make traction in the transfer market after the additions of Kenneth Zohore and Semi Ajayi but a move for Sporting CP's Brazilian winger Matheus Pereira looks to have stalled for the time being, according to Matt Wilson of the Express & Star.

Slaven Bilic is keen to sign Pereira on a season-long loan this summer with an option to buy if it all goes well at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

However, it is thought that the Portuguese club want a £9m obligation fee installed in the deal regardless of whether the Baggies win promotion to the Premier League.

A number of fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest update with many suggesting the club should just pay up.

One supporter referenced the fact the club signed Oliver Burke for £15m so they should be signing Pereira for less.

The Brazilian was on loan at Nurnberg last season as they were relegated from the Bundesliga. He made 21 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and assisting two more - playing on both flanks as well as in attacking midfield.
