West Brom fans were delighted with Kieran Gibbs’ contribution vs Sheffield United

West Brom produced a stunning second half display to complete a comeback – having gone a goal down – and emerge victorious over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Friday night. The win keeps the Baggies in touch with the league leaders.

Manager Darren Moore will be delighted to have taken all three points back to the Hawthorns, especially considering the last time West Brom won away against the Blades was back in 2004. On that day, then-Baggies defender Moore scored at both ends.

It was a current West Brom defender who stole the headlines on Friday though. Ex-Arsenal man Kieran Gibbs popped up in the 76th minute to finish smarty into the bottom corner from close range. The strike marked the left-back’s third goal of the campaign – a career best return already for the 29-year-old.

The 10-cap England man has generally been in excellent form this season and demonstrated his class again against the Blades.

After the game, plenty of West Brom fans took to Twitter to celebrate Gibbs’ telling contribution…
