West Brom have looked revitalised in recent weeks and have amassed a run of three successive victories to go six points clear at the top of the Championship table, and one integral figure to their recent fortunes has spoken out about his future.

What's he said?

The Baggies' promotion quest looked to have hit a wall over the festive period, going on a run of seven straight matches without a single win but post-January, they have been back at their best.

Key to that has been the form of Croatian midfielder Filip Krovinovic, who has managed to keep his place despite Matheus Pereira returning from suspension.

The 24-year-old has scored once and assisted two goals in four matches.

Speaking to Zagreb-based newspaper 24sata, Krovinovic provided an update on his long-term plans, he said:

"I think every player wants to feel the magic of the Premier League one day, it’s something special.

"But honestly, I don’t know what my future is, my loan expires in the summer, and West Bromwich doesn’t have a buyout option in the contract.

"I just want to play as much and as well as we can, and then we’ll see what they bring us this summer.

"I really don’t know what’s going to happen in the summer, but I want to secure a Premier League place with West Bromwich. That’s my only goal; I’m totally focused on that success."

Filip Krovinovic, Benfica playmaker.

Premier League prospects

These comments are quite frankly an honest look into how the Croatian sees his future. He clearly would like to chance his arm in the English top-flight, and he has every chance of doing so if he can help steer the Baggies to the promised land.

Although there is no buyout option in his contract, as revealed by The Athletic's Steve Madeley, you would imagine that Albion have a very good chance in tempting him back as he has clearly enjoyed his time at the Hawthorns so far - aside from the fact that they are looking increasingly likely to go up as each week passes.

Whether West Brom have the finances to pull off a permanent deal this summer remains to be seen, but considering Aston Villa won in excess of £170m for promotion last term, they should have every chance.

Are you a Championship expert? How much did each of these big-money signings cost?

Krovinvic has slowly proven that he can be a key cog to their success this campaign - in the interview, he even goes on to praise Slaven Bilic and his impact, so it could well suit all parties.

But for now, the focus is on actually getting back to the Premier League and not stumbling at the final hurdle once again.
