The 27-year-old forward’s career has been heavily hindered by injury issues since he enjoyed a fine 2013/14 campaign with the Saints.
At that time Rodriguez was capped by England – he made his only appearance to date against Chile in November 2013 – and was being tipped for a role in the Three Lions’ 2014 World Cup squad.
But he suffered a serious knee injury towards the back end of that season, ruling him out for 11 months, and his comeback has been a slow process.
However, reports claim that West Brom are keen to take a chance on the versatile attacker and have held productive talks with their Premier League rivals regarding a loan move.
Although Rodriguez features in Claude Puel’s plans at the St Mary’s Stadium, the club are believed to be willing to let him leave on a temporary basis to get some game time as he continues on his road to a full recovery.
