West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is hopeful that Steven Reid could be back in action this weekend.
Reid suffered a hamstring injury against Everton earlier this month, but he could hand Clarke a boost by returning this weekend, while winger Jerome Thomas is again ruled out with the hip problem which has caused him to miss the first four league and cup games of the campaign.
Clarke told Sky Sports:
“We are hopeful over Steven but Jerome won’t be fit again this weekend. He’s been in and out, picked up lots of little niggles and it’s unfortunate for him. He’s been working hard to get back as quickly as possible.”
The Baggies face a tough fixture away at Craven Cottage to face Fulham this weekend, but striker Romelu Lukaku will be back in contention for Saturday’s trip after proving his fitness while on international duty. The powerful teenage striker, who is on loan with the Baggies for the season from Chelsea, scored on his debut against Liverpool and was again introduced from the bench against Tottenham.
