According to The Sun on Sunday (05/08, page 61), West Brom are close to agreeing a £12m deal for Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo.
With a wealth of attacking talent at Anfield, boss Jurgen Klopp is planning a clear out towards the end of the transfer window and Ojo is the latest Reds player to be linked with a move away, although The Sun also reports that he would prefer a Premier League move rather than dropping down to the Championship with the Baggies.
The right-winger was loaned out to Fulham for the duration of last season and scored four goals in 22 Championship appearances to help the club win promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.
At just 21-years-old, Liverpool might have been expected to loan Ojo out again but The Sun reports that the Merseyside club now plan to sell to the highest bidder, with Watford and Fulham also interested.
Having lost their opening game of the Championship season 2-1 at home to Bolton, West Brom boss Darren Moore will be keen to add to his squad before the window shuts on Thursday. However, the £12m rumoured fee for Ojo seems excessive.
Moore has already used the loan market wisely to secure the services of 20-year-old Leicester winger Harvey Barnes, who marked his debut against Bolton with a stunning curling strike into the top corner, and he should press Liverpool for a loan deal for Ojo too or look elsewhere.
