According to The Daily Mail, West Brom want to sign Manchester City starlet Lukas Nmecha on loan but the 19-year-old already has an offer from Swansea City.

What's the story?

City's young striker has impressed on the club's preseason tour of the United States this summer and scored his first senior goal for the club in a 3-2 International Champions Cup win over Bayern Munich.

A prolific striker, Nmecha managed an incredible 15 goals in just 11 matches during last season's Premier League 2 campaign and notched four in three UEFA Youth League games. This form then saw Pep Guardiola reward the youngster with two brief substitute appearances for the first team in the Premier League towards the end of their title-winning season.

Nmecha was born in Hamburg, Germany but has played for England at every youth level since the U16s and is now a member of Aidy Boothroyd's U21 squad.

Race for his signature

West Brom manager Darren Moore

Swansea have just signed Nmecha's City teammate Bersant Celina for £3m and will hope that the 21-year-old winger can convince his former club's young star to join him at the Welsh club.

However, West Brom boss Darren Moore must do all he can to secure the striker's signature as the Baggies look to bounce straight back to the Premier League. With Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon set to leave the club for Newcastle and Dwight Gayle coming the other way, the Mail reports that West Brom want Nmecha to play alongside Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.

Having already signed the impressive 20-year-old winger Harvey Barnes from Leicester for the whole of next season, Moore has shown that he is willing to use the loan system to secure some top talent on a temporary basis. If he could secure Nmecha from the Premier League champions it would be a fantastic piece of business and the teenager would help fire them back to the top flight.
