As reported by The Telegraph, West Brom have put together an £18m offer to bring Morgan Schneiderlin to The Hawthorns this January.
The French midfielder hasn’t had the most successful spells at Manchester United, but his time on the sidelines looks to be coming to an end with two Premier League clubs interested in giving him first team football.
The Telegraph reckon that West Bromwich Albion are willing to break their club record for an incoming transfer to land Schneiderlin. If the move comes off, the transfer fee eclipses West Brom’s previous record transfer, £13m for Nacer Chadli just this August.
That might not be enough though with Everton also hovering and ready to move according to the paper.
It seems that despite a lack of first team football this season, Schneiderlin has very decent options to continue his Premier League career.
Althought Schneiderlin hasn’t quite made the grade at Manchester United, there’s still an excellent player there that would enhance most Premier League sides.
Helping Southampton make the rise from League 1 to the Premier League means he’s reaching near legend status at St. Mary’s.
It was his ability to step up flawlessly to top flight football that will be interesting other clubs though. Winning Southampton’s Player of the Year award in their first season up, he showed that his passing and tackling ability didn’t just belong in the English lower leagues.
It was that form that saw France give him a call-up and he’s made over 15 appearances for his nation since his first cap in 2014.
Don’t forget too that he was a regular for Manchester United last season, which is no easy feat even in an unsuccessful season.
